The Qu’Appelle Valley is beckoning you to leave the bustle behind and descend into the quiet, picturesque environs of Lumsden, just a 25-minute drive from Regina. Whether you enjoy a solitary moment with nature or a lively community festival (or both! ), this is the place. Lumsden, formerly known as “Happy Hollow”, was named one of the prettiest towns in Canada by a popular national magazine, and it’s easy to see why. Lumsden is a community of 1824 residents. Walk or bike among the towering Cottonwood trees, through the several community parks, or downtown along James Street. Be sure to stop in and check out our restaurants, retail stores, bakeries, gift shops, and fitness centers.
Lumsden is proud to be a part of the TransCanada Trail, recently adding a new walking bridge. Lumsden is part of the 22,000 km Trans Canada Trail that runs from coast to coast in Canada. Enjoy paddling on the Qu’Appelle River through town. Simply bring your canoe, dip it into the river, and enjoy the scenery. The fall foliage in the valley is spectacular.
Enjoy a stay at RiverPark Campground, which has 32 serviced sites and a group camping area. The campground is the home of the RiverPark Center. The center has a meeting room, a change area, washrooms, showers, and a canteen. Families will surely enjoy the Spray Park!
