Lumsden & District Volunteer Fire Department

Lumsden has a volunteer fire department that meets bi‐weekly and operates two pumper trucks and one rapid response unit. They have extensive specialized training and a large inventory of equipment to take care of any emergency. They’re the best of the best if you ask us!

Octoberfest:

How far can cabbage fly? How much strength does it take to hold an oversized beer stein rock steady? How relieved are you to see a firetruck pulling up when your house is on fire? How many helping hands does it take to rescue someone from a car crash?  Some of these are complicated questions ... and hopefully you'll never have to figure out the answers.

Combining fun with a great cause was the order of the evening on October 15th at the 3rd Annual Oktoberfest hosted by the Lumsden & District Volunteer Fire Department.  Not only were guests treated to great food and beverages, entertainment, prizes, raffles and a lot of laughs, but they were also instrumental in the Fire Department's fundraising efforts to acquire a new rapid response rescue truck.

With the first full year of the fundraising campaign nearly complete, the Fire Department is well on its way to reaching its goal, assisted by a recent $10,000 donation from the Conexus Credit Union presented at Oktoberfest 2022.  With two years to go, please lend your support to future events hosted by the Fire Department so they can support you in return, should you ever need to call on them.
