Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency (SAMA) is responsible for providing municipalities in Saskatchewan with the assessed values of land and improvements (buildings) in order for the municipality to calculate property taxes.

Your Council and SAMA have agreed to a reinspection of the Town of Lumsden the summer of 2023. Reinspection is an ongoing program by SAMA to ensure that all properties' physical characteristics are up to date. Periodic reinspections are one of SAMA's legislated obligations. The data changes recorded by SAMA appraisers will be used by the municipality for next year's assessment and taxation rolls.
SAMA staff will be reviewing historical property information and will review data visible from the exterior during physical property inspections. Inspections will occur between May and August 2023. At all times, SAMA staff display visible photo identification and SAMA decals on their vehicles.
Please complete and return the form included with this letter in the postage-paid envelope provided within 2 weeks of this letter, as it helps to increase the accuracy of the data attributed to your property. You may also email it to regina.region@sama.sk.ca. SAMA may call you at the number you provide on the enclosed information sheet. It is important to note that the basement finish may be estimated. If you do not have a finished basement area, please indicate to SAMA.
